Am I eligible for unemployment (EI), in Canada, in this instance?

I had a job all year from end of january untill october. I quit this job to travel for 2 months, then came back, and got another job, from which I was laid off after only 80 hours!

I would have enough insurable hours, the question is, because i quit that first job, does that disqualify me?

Also, I only worked the second job for 80 hours, would that have any bearing?

Your situation doesn't clearly fit into the example on their website. My guess is that the fact that you lost your most recent job through no fault of your own will mean that you aren't disqualified because you quit your previous job.

The only way to know for sure is to apply, and the helpful folks at Service Canada will make sure the rules are correctly applied based on your particular situation.
