Can you eat fertilized quail eggs?

My Japanese Quails had baby chicks and while they are looking after them, I keep finding eggs in their nest. My question is can you eat fertilized eggs? If so, do I need to prepare them in any way?

Well, of course you can, Yuffie. If the security guard at my college could eat fetal mice en casserole in Vietnam, then you can eat fertile quail eggs.

I advise not looking at them too long while cooking or eating, though.
