i need to know if you have to buy books on kindle.....

hi, so i have decided to get a kindle for my birthday, and i dont know if you have to buy a book for every time you buy it. like, do you write your credit card number and it takes money off that or what? i just thought you bought the kindle, than can download any book for free. i'm really confused. and if you have to pay, how much does it usually range into? i just need info about those kinds of things. if you know anything else that might help, please add that as well when you anser. thank you :D

Amazon has all the answers to your questions on it's Kindle page. http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Wireless-Reader-Wifi-...

Scroll down to "Kindle at a Glance"

For instance-regarding free ebooks "the Internet is huge and there are lots of older, out-of-copyright, pre-1923 books online. We wanted to make it easier to find these collections, which today represent nearly 2 million titles. See the sites and instructions below to download free classic and other out-of-copyright, pre-1923 books and transfer via USB to your Kindle device or read on Kindle for PC or Kindle for Mac."

Also many classics can be downloaded from amazon for free- http://www.amazon.com/s/?node=2245146011

Most of the books I've bought have been through Amazon for 9.99 to 12.99.

Go to the Kindle store, click on books you'd likely buy and check out the prices.

If you have your credit card number stored with Amazon or paypal, you add the book to your cart and log in and pay like anything else you buy online. You also can log in to Amazon and order directly through your Kindle.

you should have an amazon account nd when you buy a book on your kindle it shouldnt ask for credit cards or anything it just sends you it and when you log into your amazon account itll tell you you ordered a book ...if you registered your kindle with that account it think hope this helped..they usally range from free to 10 bucks ..you can google free kindle book list on line and you just type that into your kindle at the shop then it should pop up and if its free it wont charge you
