I know that community service looks good on a college application but it is not necessary to have volunteer hours to become a teacher. Go to college do your observations and student teaching pass the praxis and then graduate.

I think that's great you have a dream and are going to go after that. Just keep your head up and keep with it and it'll pay out in the end. 2nd graders are hard to teach but i don't think they are as hard as like middle and high school and neither is going to school for as long as you need to be a teacher but if you put your mind to it you can do it. Just stay out of trouble and keep with it and have patience with the kids when it happens. Good luck.

you need a bachelor's degree, plus sometime during college you need to do some student-teaching. my cousin is a math teacher and he did a lot of student-teaching while attending college. also once you graduate as a teacher--if you drink--you need to watch your alcohol intake and your driving. I dont know about your state but where my cousin lives, if he's caught drinking and driving, or above the legal limit he'll never teach again.

oh that's easy.. don't care about children.. become greedy and slack off much.. don't worry about teaching OR learning.. because that's what it's about.

teachers? heh, they're not about that at all. (i hated teachers by the time i was in 9th grade, they're not about the better or the good... )

    Source(s): you're better off being a tart.

Just don't get yourself into trouble with the law, or mixed up with the wrong kinds of people. Good luck.

Go to college, prep for teaching certification exam and pass it.
