Help with my Verizon BlackBerry Curve 3G?

I got this phone about a month ago and at first it was fine. Now, it seems that half of my texts don't go through to people. I sent a text to my moms phone everyday for a week straight and she never received any of them. Then I did a battery pull and texted my phone from hers and now its fine. The problem is that it's occuring with a lot of other people too. Is there any way I can fix it?

Update:

If they reset it will I lose all of my info on it?

    you need to update the service books on the phone. no, doing this will not erase any information on your phone.

    From your Blackberry, go to Options, select Advanced Options, select Host Routing Table, press the Menu button, select Register Now. You will shortly receive a confirmation message on your device. then try texting again.
