Can anyone tell me or give me some sites to visit that give some detailed information on the floods in queensland, my mum is traveling to Australia on 11th january this year and will be staying in cairns near to the airport
any information will be grateful
is it safe to travel
is the airport open etc..
ps already contacted the hotel they haven't got back to us yet

THere are no problems in Cairns at the moment ...the areas at risk are to the south . Here's a site that has up to the minute forecasts right across the State..

Cairns is not in the flood zone!! The flooded area has advised visitors to leave
