Both laptops are identical, the only difference is the screen size. The DV7 has a 17.3" whereas the DV6 has a 15.6". I would recommend the DV6, a 15.6" screen is perfect. My cousin has a laptop with a screen 17" and it's kind of big and annoying to move around.
