Base pays remain the same and gave NOTHING to do with family Status.
if there are no children they are treated as SINGLE for housing purposes and IF they are allowed to live off base they Get BAH Single only. One there are kids the one who puts them on their Pg2 gets the W/dependent rate.
if living in base housing the senior forfeits their BAH to the housing office.
if they are NOT at the same duty station they can each be required to live in the barracks and thus not get BAH at all.

If there are no children they both get SINGLE rate BAH. If they are not stationed together they are treated the same as every other single Soldier and are made to live in the barracks and therefore forfit their BAH.
If they have children the higher ranking one gets with dep rate and the other gets without dep rate.

One person (the higher rank) gets BAH at the higher (with dependent) rate and the other gets it at the single rate.
