I feel I may have depression, but not suicidal in anyway?
Is there free help for people like that?
Thank you livestium, but I do kinda know why I'm depressed.
It's not really my thinking that needs adjustment, but my situation in life.
I will look into the sites you posted though, thanks again.

yes...it depends on where u live...there are various names for organizations that help people with depression but without suicidal tendencies...in nashville crisis center helps and guides u in a direction where u can get the help desired......there are free clinics u can go to..in hospitals that have free clinics...there might be a mental health co-op in ur state that offers assistance...in answer there are many ways to get free help..if u need it...go to your local hospital...most of the hospitals have charity offerings where u sign up and the clinic is offered to u free of charge...regardless if u have health insurance or not no hospital will turn u away without treatment....tell them u need assistance ...that u feel depressed and even though u dont feel suicidal there might be an existing trigger that could send u in that direction...u will get the help u need.......trust me

I'll paste an answer I gave earlier to someone, its the same I would suggest for you.
Depression and anxiety unless caused by a disease is caused by our thinking style, which is mostly learned from family.
There is however a simple technique that can be learned to actually deal with anxiety and depression, it works with PTSD and eating disorders.
Its called Mindfulness Meditation and is used by therapists to treat such.

watch these clips

Use google and youtube for more information, there is no need to pay for this information when it is already out there for free.
Edit, there is a book called Mindfulness for Dummies that would help you, look it up on facebook they have a group under the same name.

If you decide to try mindfulness stick with it, practice it, use it, don't just say I didn't notice any difference, it takes time for the brain to adjust its thinking style but you should notice some sense of peace the first time if you follow the 2nd clip.
