Minor oil staining to front engine hoses adjacent to engine pulley?

Dear mechanics/engineers,

An engineer has given me a report about faults with a vehicle that has been inspected today before purchase. I did not understand one section; Engine underside leakage - minor oil staining to front engine hoses adjacent to engine pulley - Monitor as a precaution.

Could anyone please tell me if this is dangerous or what I could do to be on the safe side of things?

p.s. the engine bay/underside has also recently been steam cleaned which will mask the presence of oil and water leaks at the time of inspection.

Happy new year to you all.

It is a nuisance. It will continue to get worse until repaired. You need to add oil when it gets low. If oil collects on an exhaust manifold that can catch fire. If it only stains and leaks. Monitor as a precaution.
