polysproin and other antibiotic ointments are good at preventing infections but if it is already infected, please see a vet for an appropriate dose of antibiotics to cure the infection. Use the ointments to help it heal faster and keep other potential infection away.

An eye infection producing some whitish / greenish discharge can usually be successfully treated with Polysporin eye drops. If there is no marked improvement in 2-3 days ,or worsening after one full day ,I would take the pup to the vet. I have not yet seen an eye infection in 20 years of dog ownership that Polysporin has not fixed.

you can. I asked my vet and he indicated that you can use it but it is not good for them to ingest a lot of it. If you put it on then put a cone on him/her so it isn't all licked off. Or wrap the foot in a doggie boot or just gauze but not tightly.
If it is infected it can do a lot of harm so bring him/her to a vet quick.
If it is a rash due to excessive licking then check for thorns or sliver that could be stuck or rock stuck between the toes or in the padding. If it is not a cut/wound then zinc cream works better than polysporin. I use zincofax as it has much less man made stuff in it.
Wash thoroughly before applying polysporin and wrapping.
