I'm a Junior in High School. My strong subjects are Science and Math(More English though, I just can't write essays) I don't know which to take. My Mom thinks the SAT is better but I'm leaning towards the ACT(mainly because I'm a science guy, and I guess on problems. What should I do

I would suggest ACT. Science wouldn't help you on the SAT, unless you're thinking about taking SAT IIs. And you also pointed out the guessing factor, which is great on the ACT because you can guess on problems and not be penalized if you get them wrong. The english section on the ACT is known to be a lot easier than that on the SAT, and, from attending about 5 college information sessions, I gathered that students usually do better on the ACT. Also, the science on the ACT focuses on reading charts and tables, and analyzing and gathering information.
Why don't you take a practice SAT and ACT and see how you do?
Source(s): I'm a high school senior. I took the SAT 3 times and the ACT twice (I know, I'm crazy). I personally prefer the ACT for all the reasons above, and I did do slightly better on the ACT than the SAT. - Anonymous4 years ago
Err. 1600 isn't that nicely once you're making plans on attending a good college. I propose getting an SAT Prep e book only like the Princeton assessment. or you will flow to an SAT Academy like me.

act because if you guess on problems and get them wrong it doesn't hurt you as much of the sat but lots of universities don't exactly care about the act as much as the sat Also the act is a lot easier than the sat
