Can you use a warm air humidifier with vicks in it for a 1 month old?

My baby just turned 1 month and has a lot of congestion in the nose and now in the chest. My baby has had this congestion since the day he was born and the doctor recommended using saline spray and drop it in his nose ( aspirator doesn't pull anything out) and using a cool humidifier and both are temp fixes. I have a vicks warm air humidifier with vicks solution for it I am wondering if it's safe for a 1 month old seeing how you can't use baby vicks til they are 3 mo. He has another doc appt on the 11th but was hoping for something to help for now.

Update:

Never smoked a day in my life, Don't have a fireplace or wood stove but do have the heater running but thats gas heat.

Update 2:

I have a cold humidifier and a vicks warm air vapo steam humidifier. I know when I was a kid it was warm viocks in a pot with steam or run a hot shower band sit in the bathroom with steam.

I wouldn't do it they advise not using Vick's until they are 3 months old. More tummy time will help to get it flowing, I worship Little Noses they have a saline with a nice easy up the nose nasal, sleeping in baby seats or the carrier help because they are up right letting it flow, nice hard pats on the back, a cool humidifier without Vick's (cool air is actually preferred it is easier to breath just keep the little one bundled up), I have a Little Cold's Baby Rub (an alternative to Vick's) they still advise waiting until they are three months old, but if you read all the ingredients is all naturals which won't hurt the little one just rub it on a bib, so it doesn't ruin outfits or irritate skin. If you don't have a wedge and don't want the little one sleeping in a seat you can tilt the mattress with books to keep them a little more up right. Be sure to clean clean clean so he can get better. The doctor will check for RSV both strict no meds till 6 months!

No No No, never use vicks on a baby, you can give the infant and inhaled pneumonia. Also warm air humidifiers are no longer used. Just get humidity into the air, if you smoke, stop, if you have a fireplace or wood burner stop that too. If you don't have a commercial humidifier get some pots of water on the stove and start boiling.

It does sound like croup. I wouldn't rush out to the Emergency room unless his fever becomes uncontrollable or he goes into respiratory distress (rapid breathing of over 60 breaths per minute at rest or his chest sinks in when he takes a breath)........Croup has to run it's course like any other virus, there are no medications other than albuterol for respiratory distress that can help. If he does start having trouble breathing, they may have you give him albuterol via a nebulizer, inhaler, or liquid form. If his cough gets really bad, you can bundle him up in a blanket and take him outside to sit in the cool air for a little while, trust me, it will help soothe it. Run a cool mist humidifier in his bedroom also. Vicks Babyrub may help some. Call his doctor again if you get concerned.

Croupe! Croupe is going around right now. My doctor said to either crack open u'r window a little or actually, dress them up in their winter coats and take him outside for a walk. The cold weather helps. If u have a newer crib (mine has a flat board instead of the string) move it up at one end or use a blanket or pillow under the mattress evenly...it too will help. One twin has croupe right now.

No, no, no , in fact my mother used to place the humififier under the crib with me and I done it with my children so that the air doesnt just go up and evaoporate ... use cold water
