Can anyone help me with solving systems by substitution?

I am not trying ot cheat!

I just need some answers to help get me started.

Thank You!(:

Question 1: y=1/2x+4

2y+2x=2

Question 2: 2y=x+3

x=y

Question 3: x-y=1

x=1/2y+2

    I'll do one.

    They all look equally difficult (i.e. not) since they all have one equation already solved for a variable.

    y = 1/2x + 4

    2y + 2x = 2

    so

    2(1/2x + 4) + 2x = 2

    x + 8 + 2x = 2

    3x = -6

    x = -2 ✔

    and so

    y = 1/2(-2) + 4

       = -1 + 4

       = 3 ✔

    that strategy will work on the other two as well.
