Well, I guess you have to stay home. However, your employer doesn't have to pay you if you're not working.

You have two choices. You either stay home 6 months and if your job allows disability see if you can apply OR you try to find another doctor to get their opinion.

If your company has a long term disability program, you take advantage of it. Otherwise, you simply lose your job and apply for SSD.
