Anime similar to Naruto?

Flame of Recca. It's another ninja battle anime. Although the anime cuts off WAY before the manga does, it's like naruto meets yu yu hakasho. The main character has a relationship with someone just like Naruto does with Sauske.

I would've said Bleach (since Naruto and Bleach are both long running anime and both are very similar and yet completely different) but by what you're looking for doesn't match it. I'd strongly suggest Death Note. It's similar in a way where L and Light are friends, and yet are also enemies (in a confusing kind of way.) You can also try Kodocha. It's not an action or a ninja type of show (it's actually more of a realistic type) but Sana (the protagonist) is in love with Akito (I think he's the antagonist). Akito, though, becomes less of an enemy later in the series. They're relationship is kinda weird, but really touching towards the end.

Gundam Seed. If you can ignore the childish character designs (then again, its not too different than how Naruto started) then you'll realize its a great alternative universe Gundam series. Lots of politics, mecha action, and character development. If you start watching, you probably won't be able to stop.

The main character and one of main antagonists are childhood friends and they find out they're on different sides of the war in the first episode. The main character is kind of a wuss and kind of whiny in the first 20 episodes but he stiffens up so its okay.

You can also look at Hulu or Netflix if you really want to find something like Naruto, you yourself would find something you enjoy on it. on both web sites they say what the show is about and also this wouldn't take long to look through the ones that look good to you. to conclude both websites are relabel and safe. so you don't have to worry about lag or a virus.

PS. Netflix needs a membership, so if you have one great, if not you should get try if and see. Tons of anime on it that is great. also Hulu sometimes only has the japanese version of these shows but Netflix has them in English and commercial free.

An anime where the guys are friends but enemies and that I recommend highly is Death Note. It is not too too long but it has enough to keep you hooked onto your seat until the end of the series!!
