For spray paint art do you need?

Stick the paper to something solid and flat, like cardboard. If you use a glue like wallpaper paste you should be able to keep the crumbled paper texture and then just spray over it. The crumpled paper wont affect your spray painted designs.

Sometimes if your using a glossy or shiny surface the paint won't adhere to it as well, but that all depends on the quality of your paints and the materials you're using.
