How to make good nachos?

I cook a lot of things and it may seem like a weird question, but for movie night, I want to make nachos.

I have around 2 pounds of ground beef, nacho chips, white cheddar cheese, tomatoes, cilantro, avocado, greek yogurt, but not a semblance of fresh hot pepper like jalapeno. (I do have onion and practically everything else that would be needed.)

It's not the biggest deal ever but I'm trying to replace popcorn with something heartier and suddenly realized that I have not made nachos at home before.

So the basic question is how do I pull this together? Any quick recipe would be appreciated. Thanks!

Brown hamburger meat with some onion & garlic. Melt cheese in microwave or preferable a small crock pot. Have all the other items prepped & ready and set up a nacho bar. That way everyone can put exactly what they like on them.

    Method

1 Preheat the oven to 350°F. Arrange a layer of tortilla chips along the bottom of a wide, shallow baking pan. It will make things easier if this baking pan also can be used as a serving pan, such as the ceramic platter. The layer of tortilla chips can be a couple chips thick. Spread the cooked ground beef over the chips (this is why you need extra thick chips, so they don't break when encountering the beef). Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top of chips and beef. Bake in oven for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted. 5 minutes in a convection oven.

2 Serve with dollops of your yogurt; chopped tomatoes, chopped avocado & chopped cilantro sprinkled on top.

    Ingredients (serves 4)

    1 tablespoon olive oil

    1 large onion, finely chopped

    500g beef mince

300g can kidney beans, drained, rinsed

    1 teaspoon Mexican chilli powder

35g sachet reduced-salt taco seasoning mix

    2 tablespoons tomato paste

    1/4 cup water

    1/2 cup coriander leaves, chopped

    230g packet corn chips

    1 cup grated tasty cheese

1/2 cup tomato salsa, mashed avocado and sour cream, to serve

    Method

Preheat oven to 200°C. Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Cook onion for 2 minutes, or until soft. Add mince. Cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, for 5 minutes or until browned.

Add kidney beans, chilli powder, seasoning, tomato paste and water. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until thick. Stir through coriander.

Arrange corn chips on a heatproof plate. Top with mince. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 15 minutes, or until hot. Top with salsa, avocado and sour cream. Serve.

    Hope this helps :)

btw i use this recipe all the time and they are truly scrumptious!

You can make nachos a few different ways, I suggest...

brown the meat and then add a taco seasoning packet

top it with the cheese and then all of the other dressings

to give it a little extra creamyness mix sour cream to may ratio and drizzle on top!

The other night my cousin has us over for dinner and had the most delicious chicken. When I asked her how she made it, she said she got the recipe out of the America's Secret Recipes cookbook she had just purchased online. You might want to give it a try.
