Help please! My PC doesn't start!!?
Yesterday all was working perfectly, I turned it off without nothing strange happening and everything was working perfectly, nothing wrong whatsoever. But today when I pressed the button like I do always it just didn't start. Nothing happened, and only after pressing it a bit harder the monitor, that was on stand by, turned on and after 5 secs it went back to stand by again. I looked everywhere but just couldn't find anything wrong. It had power, it had electricity going by (I almost electrocuted myself) but it doesn't start.
So if someone knows what can I do I would greatly appreciate it. Besides it is friday and on weekends there are very few technicians working. Thanks!!
Another thing that's caught my attention is the fact that there's a light right under the graphics card and when I turn the switch behind the PC it does go on and off with it... so it is recieving power, but I just don't know why it's not turning on.

the power supply has most likely died in the night, especially if you almost electricuted yourself, that can be a sign of instability in the power.
get a CiT 550W black edition PSU on amazon, they are about £25-30 and they run silent which is and added bonus.
there are obviously going to be no signs of tampering with the wires inside if you checked it through.
first though try turning it off at the mains and back on again after about a minute if that doesnt work, try the power supply.

When a computer doesn't start on the first try, and this happens more than once, it usuall means the power supply is failing.

Disconnect the power cable for like a minute and then try again. I think it is just stuck in standby mode. Ive had this happen.

switch off at mains, wait ten. switch on.
go thru whole routine.
what did you do last -try & remember.
If all else fails, put in cd's or dvd's which came with machine, boot up from those discs, use 'repair' function rather than 'Start from scratch'

Was anyone home using your PC without knowing? I have experienced that before and turns out my stupid sister had downloaded a .BAT file and ran it. But in that case im not sure. Maybe sudden failure? This question is very fishy...

It seems to be working fine now. Thanks for letting us know that it wouldn't start.
Next time, try jumper cables.
