Is it normal than when I get bad news, I never want to do anything?
Like when i get bad news, I usually wouldn't do any school work like revision for exams or coursework and all I do is watch films for example or just go to sleep.

i understand, it's like when you are having a good morning and then a bill comes through your door that you've not remembered to pay and the bank charges are there!!
it could mess up rest of mood for day or week so you must try to turn negative into positive and think it is just a bit of bad news but you will get through it.
find a solution and just see it as part of your day and not the whole thing, then it doesn't spoil it. going back to bed won't solve anything as the problem will still be there when you wake up.
take the bull by the horns and deal with it!! don't let it control you, if you think like this you will stay happy and in charge of your life.

yes, that's normal. But if you allow yourself to just sleep, you'll get more upset. Try to get out and do something.
