What ever happened to Americas Race Team?
It was announced about July last year a new team wud be competing in the Sprint Cup Series under the name of Americas Race Team and wud be entering car #76 with an unnamed driver. It was supposed to be "fan funded" and i figured theres no way in hell itd ever work. SO what happened to them? they havnt updated their website since they made it and the facebook stopped at labor day. Did they fail?

neat idea, bad timing. personally I don't think this will happen with the way the economy is right now. the membership is certainly reasonable but people don't seem to be willing to spend money on a venture such as this. I think they quickly realized this. I don't know for sure, but they probably spent a small fortune promoting it and abandoned the idea. the link below is from July of 2010. at the bottom is contact info where you could possibly find out whats going on and if this venture is still a go. http://americasracingteam.com/
