What is the genre where the story is set in the future where chaos abounds?

I need the name of the genre of books and movies like "Mad Max" or "The Road", not necessarily after nuclear war, but where society has collapsed from weather or economic conditions.

    The Road is classified as Literary. You might think Sci-fi at first, but it's literary. I found this out through research after I had the same question. It's literary because it's character-driven, not plot-drive.

    I dont' know about movies since they have different genres than books.

    Literary agents and publishers look for specific genres. The genre would be sci-fi. Any other genre would most likely be ignored by agents.
