Part time job in a vet's office?

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a part-time job in a vet's office? I'm not here looking for a job offer, I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of people working part-time in a vet's office with nothing more than a high school diploma

Yes it is. Veterinarians hire high school students or those fresh out of high school all the time. You would be qualified to work in the kennel taking care of the animals and cleaning up. Or you would be qualified to work in the front office answering phones, making appointments, etc. These jobs are rarely advertised and people are usually found through word of mouth via existing employees. If you are interested in these positions then you should call around and find out who is hiring. If no one is, ask if you can leave a resume or fill out an application and ask to be notified if a position becomes available in the future. These jobs are often part-time (especially in the kennel) because high school and college students are often hired for these positions especially those interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.

Veterinary assistants are very highly trained, without going to tech school you will probably not land a job as an assistant. Vet's offices aren't the only place to get experience with animals, volunteer at shelters, go to boarding kennels and doggy day cares and apply, go to groomers and learn to bathe for them, stables always need help with grooming, hot walking and stall cleaning, there are Alpaca and Lhama ranches, boarding stables, pet shops, the list is endless. The thing is, without training before hand all you'll be able to get at a vet's clinic is receptionist and that is not "working with the animals".

me and my sister used to work free in a pet shop and we're still in middle school. but all we did was groom the animals, feed them, and help the vets' sometimes.
