    1. Its a good series, action packed, romance, gore, everything twilight is NOT! Therefor, I think it should be more compared to Percy Jackson type books

    2. Read the reviews on the back of The Hunger Games... it seems like it

    3. You find more Peeta fans here, but being a Gale fan, I can easily tell you why. In the first book, I liked Peeta also, but as soon as I started the second book, I decided I like Gale better. He and Katniss are better friends and know each other more inside and out. They've done so much together, Peeta well... Katniss doesn't love him.

    BQ: Probably

    1. I think people are calling the next twilight simply because it's a young adult love triangle and the book has become a bit of a phenomenon.

    2. Stephanie Meyer did post a review of the book on her website and highly recommended it to her readers.

    3. I don't like Gale either. He's a good friend but he wants more from Katniss when it's obvious she should be with Peeta.

    1. Many want Kristin Stewart (Bella) as Katniss, Robert Pattinson (Edward) as Peeta, and Taylor Lautner (Jacob) as Gale. So I totally agree with you, but I don't think that the directors would be that stupid to give them the role, then of course it would be another twilight movie. Also, if the actors in the Hunger Games Movie look and sound as depressed as the Twilight cast, then it would be a Twilight movie because that was bugging me and it ruined the movie for me how they acted so depressed.

    2. I am pretty sure that Stephanie Meyers loved this book and was obsessed with it. I am.

    3. I like Gale but I like Peeta 100 times better. But, what did Gale do so wrong besides in the third book but I am not going to say because I don't want to spoil it. I think that Alex Pettyfer should play Peeta and Drew Roy should play Gale.

    4. I don't know if Stephanie Meyers likes Harry Potter or not. Why?

It's not the next Twilight. They are two totally different stories, and cannot be compared. But if we were talking about popular wise.. then that is probably what 'everyone' mean by saying it's the next Twilight. Comparing Twilight and the Hunger Games is like comparing Twilight and Harry Potter...

I don't know if Stephanie Meyer is obsessed with "The Hunger Games", but I'm sure if she likes them, that doesn't make "The Hunger Games" the next Twilight.

    1. Twilight and The Hunger Games cant even be compared...The Hunger Games is amazing and Twilight is just, well rubbish in comparison.

2.It does say on the cover of my copy of The Hunger Games that Stephanie Meyer said "The Hunger Games is amazing. It kept me up for many nights. Even when i had finished it i was still awake all night thinking about it." or something like that.

    3. I completly agree!! Gale is an idiot who doesnt deserve Katniss. Team Peeta all the way!

    4. I have know idea- but she should. Harry Potter is also better than Twilight.

    1. I think they are saying that because it's predicted to be really popular like Twilight. But the books are in no way similar to each other.

    2. Well, she praised the book. I am not sure if she's obsessed with it. :)

    3. Based on fans I know, more people like Peeta

    1. Calling one book the next HP/Twilght/LotR/whatever doesn't necesarily mean "oh, it is so similar to that book!" as it means "oh, like that book, it will make a lot of money!". I don't think the comparisons are because the books are similar as much as they are because both books are popular with the teen set and are making a lot of money.

    2. Yes. The quote (from SMeyer's website) is: “Catching Fire not only lived up to my high expectations, it surpassed them. It's just as exciting as The Hunger Games, but even more gut wrenching, because you already know these characters, you've already suffered with them.”

    3. They like Gale because he's a decent enough, well fleshed out character. He is, in many ways, the exact opposite of Peeta (he is outspoken where Peeta is quiet, Vibrant when Peeta is calm), so the pair of them are quite polarizing, especially to the shippers. I personally don't have a problem with Gale and found him to be quite interesting, but preferred Peeta as a romantic lead.

BQ: Yes, she probably does. I can't find as definitive a quote as the one for Hunger Games, but Meyer has gone on the record saying she wishes she could meet JK Rowling, kindda implying that she likes her books.

***WARNING: there WILL be spoilers in this. So don't read if you don't want to know what happens!***

    1. Super popular, generally a girly book series.

    2. No idea.

    3. Are you kidding?! I'm a TOTAL Gale fan! I love the fact that he's actually trying to do something, not just sitting in his bakery decorating cakes. Don't get me wrong, I like Peeta. But not as a romantic lead. I love how Gale is obviously discontent with the injustice and tries to DO something about it. How he manages to hold himself together even after Catnip goes through 2 Hunger Games with Peeta. And he's so tragic - always second to Peeta, only noticed when he's in pain, practically flayed alive in the streets... ah. At least Collins had the decency to sort of halfway tell us what happens to him. Although, as crazy as he is over Katniss, I cannot believe that he'd just go kissing other girls again overnight, no matter what the silly Mockingjay thinks.

    Cheers.

    1. I haven't heard that but they porably just mean its going to be a really popular series.

    2. She has said that she likes the series i don't know if she was obsessed with it tho.

    3. Gale was way better than Peeta i see why Suzzanne had Katniss choose him. Gale had more drive to end capitals control over them and actually live normal lives not just scrapping by on what they could get.

BQ: She might like it im sure authors like series that were written by others aswell

    1. Um? Hunger Games is not even close to being like Twilight... Twilight is so weird and fake I mean seriously.... Werewolves and Vampires? Come on. But, they probably said it b/c Hunger Games is a really good book and apparently so is Twilight to some people.

    2. Ya... Did you read what she said in the back of the book...How she had to read it under the table at a diner and it kept her up all night? Those are the words of an obsessed lady.

    3. Gale is cool. Like... maybe for girls who like guys with dark hair and olive skin and gray eyes? Because I love gray eyes :).

Nah, Harry Potter is too old fashioned for her. She likes present- future novels. But, Harry Potter is a very awesome book! And Stephanie like romance novels while Harry Potter isn't that romantic. Just look at his life. So UN-Romantic.

    1. Probably because it is becoming as popular. But I do not like it being called that...

    2. Yeah, she loves it, so I hear. I think thats part of how it became popular.

    3. I hate Gale.

    And she probably does.
