how do you flash a bios old fashion way? (shorting out some pins)?

well i over clocked my ram with out upping the voltage to the rest of the computer and so now when i boot it up its taking power away from monitor and keyboard communication so i can't do anything so i'm left to flashing it the old fashion way. how would i go about doing that? all i know if you need to short out some pins and it will reset bios to default and if you screw up can kill the motherboard (which i have a new one thats going in soon but this one has some features the new one does for a few test i need to run so thats why i would like to do this before i replace it)

thanks

Update:

this is a fairly old computer about 10 years

    Read the manual.

In general, the technique is unplug the computer (not just power down), find the motherboard jumper and move it. Wait 10+ seconds, then return it to the original position before powering back up.

Some motherboards now have a button to do this.

Resetting the CMOS returns the BIOS to the default settings. It doesn't actually flash the BIOS. Flashing is when you write a new BIOS to the motherboard. If flashing fails (such as a poorly timed power failure) your motherboard may be completely dead.

There must be a "jumper" on your motherboard which permits to reset BIOS, besides the incontrovertible fact that there is an much less complicated way. locate great around battery on your motherboard (that's what's retaining BIOS powered on once you turn off your laptop) and heavily do away with it with small flat screwdriver or knife. wait for 10-half-hour and placed it back. BIOS ought to reset at this factor.
