That's really good! :) He will likely qualify for the National Merit Scholarship, and possibly become a Finalist, too! If he does, there are schools that will offer him money because of his NMS status, and having the honor on his college application will certainly won't hurt :) Tell him congrats!
(You'll find out about the scholarship either through the school, or by mail from the foundation.)
