If I use my home or coffee shop WIFI does it count towards my 1gb allowance on my mobile phone tariff?

Just wondering if when I connect via WIFI whether that time comes out of the 1gb allowance that comes with my tariff or is it different cos I (or whoever pays for the WIFI in Costa coffee) pay for my home connection separately?

You should have nothing to worry about as your data plan allowance will most likely count when you are on and using the 3G or EDGE (2G) network by your providor. When you connect to Wi-Fi whether at home or out and about in say coffee shops then this does not count to your data plan and so is an alternative way of getting online if you don't want to use up your data tariff or have ran out of expendable data for the month and don't want to start paying per Megabyte which will get costly.

lol the wifi at the coffee house is free. Im not sure about your home wifi. You were kinda vague about the providers but not your fault. Umm your home wifi probably costs too, but the coffee shop owns their own, seperate, internet connection. They pay for their own connection so you shouldnt have to worry about thatt

Be sure you connect using wifi and not 3g and it should be free
