I really like the Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim but they dont make them anymore so you'll have to search on eBay, etc.

All the sets I took here were on the Vivitar with a selection of film (Sensia 400, Velvia 100F, T-Max 400) - I find the 'Vivi' is just crying out for some slide film for cross processing.

Superheadz do make a copy version of this camera still called a White Slim Angel / Black Slim Devil but they're typically over £20 whereas a 2nd hand Vivi will cost around £5.

The pros of the Vivi are a lovely wide 22m lens, a natural vignette, infamous lens flare, simplicity (no settings AT ALL!), lightweight, no batteries needed and cheap!

The cons are it's quite flimsy, the winder can break if you're not careful, you have to chose the right film i.e. no DX coding and it's so wide that your fingers will be in the shot if you're not careful.

Some other cameras to consider are:-

    Diana Mini

    Holga 135BC

    Lomo LC-A

    Lomo 135M

    Sprocket Rocket

    Smena 8m

Just remember you're likely to find them much cheaper on eBay than in the official Lomo store.

And for those who say they're rubbish and a waste of time dont listen to them. I also own SLRs and DSLR equipment but still take time to enjoy a spot of 'lomo' photography. It's liberating to leave everything behind and just snap away - I actually find it more fun.

Yes the cameras are cheap and yes they're plastic and lo-fi but so what? It's a tool at the end of the day and it's what you do with that tool that matters. They wouldnt have a go at Picasso for using cheap brushes would they?

I'm tired of listening to elitest wannabe's who cant accept another medium can be creative or fun regardless of the material it happens to be made out of.

Buy what YOU want. Get out there and have some FUN.

Frankly, they're all terrible. Very poor quality... shoddy materials and numerous defects. Very limited capabilities. You'd do much better to buy a used 35mm. camera than one of these overpriced toys. Even a cheap recyclable camera would be a better choice. Good luck. You can get a list of the Lomos by googling the name, but I hope you'll do better.
