Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR2 LCD Television quit responding to side control and remote control for volume and mode?

Just tonight, my Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR2 52 in. LCD Television quit responding to side controls and remote control for volume and mode. It will turn off via remote but nothing else will work via remote. Also, the side panel will turn on and off but no others controls are operable. Also, it used to power up within seconds and now the sound will come on after about 10 seconds but it takes 30 to 60 seconds for the image to appear. The image then looks fine and it seems to default to the satelite box and volume at medium level, the same as it was before this problem occurred. Im afraid to reboot and default to factory settings as then it will probably not reset to the satelite box and I shall have no tv at all but being unable to control the volume and switch to overair antenna is annoying. I have unplugged it, turned it off, etc, I can not access the menu function either via remote or via the side. Please, someone help me! I fear it may take a service call but I live a ways from the technician and the tv is mounted to the wall. The tv is about 3 years 3 months old as well. Could the problem be some type of module that powers or controls those items as they are all located in the same area? Thanks for your assistance in this matter. Debbie
