You shouldn't need to refill your coolant level. If it leaks externally your engine will overheat. If it leaks internally you will have a lot of white smoke out the exhaust and water in your oil (head gasket). This is a closed system and if you have to refill often you've got a problem. I check my coolant level when I check my oil level on eng., trans., power steering, and brakes which is about once a month.
