How long have you been dancing?

I started when I was 3, and now I'm 14, so I'm on my 12th year, so in June I'll be going on 13

    Do you like to dance?

I wouldn't do it for so long if I hated it :} I love to dance

    Dancing for you means…?

my life? Or a big part of it at least. I was raised dancing, its something I enjoy and its something I can see myself doing as a career (if I was better of course)

Dancing brings out what kind of side to you?

My not shy side :} I hate being in front of people just talking and stuff, but as soon as I'm on that stage performing anything, I feel so much better and I can really be myself and feel confident because I know I'm showing people something I know I can do

Do you notice any change sin your mood after dancing?

*shrugs* I don't know. Like I said, I started really young, I didn't even know what a mood was then, so I couldn't determine it

Based your own experience, do you think that dance affect the mind?

Yes, I think is calms people, mentally and physically. It lets people feel proud of themselves knowing that they can perfect this hard routine, dancing makes people feel accomplished... or me at least.

If does, in which way (positive or negative)?

    Positive :}

Did you like the survey? _x_ Yes __ No

That was fn and made me think, thanks

I've been dancing on stage since I was two years old, which is thirteen years next month.

I don't like to dance, I LOVE it beyond everything else.

Dancing for me means.. to be able to walk out on stage and become somebody else and live somebody else's life even just for a moment. It's the only way one can truly express feeling.

Dancing brings out my favourite side to me. It's a dark, angry side with furtive little feelings and an aching need to feel beautiful.

I notice a positive change in my mood after dancing. I generally feel happier because through dancing I can release all the negative feeling from me.

I have been dancing literally since before I can remember, and I cannot imagine my life without it. I am a sufferer of bipolar disorder, and I put my coping with this almost completely down to dancing. It has affected my ability to express so wonderfully positively from being completely unable to understand happiness to knowing how to achieve it. Dance allows the mind to be freer and more open to the endless possibilities we all hear so much about.

    I did like the survey a lot, thank-you. :)

I have been dancing for 36 ish years. my mum was the dancing teacher so I had a head start.

I love to dance and to teach.

Dancing for me means freedom from worries. Oh and an income.

Well, when all is going well a happy side but when my body won't cooperate I get really grumpy.

Again it depends on how my session has gone and how my pupils have behaved.

I know it does. All exercise brings endorphins flooding the body and especially the brain which makes you feel more upbeat and positive(hence why bipolar sufferers in the UK have been prescribed exercise for a few years now)

As I said, a totally positive way(even when things go wrong)

    The survey was good.

I have been dancing for 10 years.

I love to dance! It's a huge passion of mine!

Dancing for me means a lot of different things. On bad days it's an escape from everything that's going on, and it is always going to do something I love! Dancing is my life, and everything else in it is a distraction!

Dancing brings different sides out of my depending on the style. Ballet and poine bring out the hard working side, jazz, modern, and tap bring out my fun side, and lyrical brings out all of that plus tons of emotion depending on the dance!

I am always tired, but super happy after dance!

Does dance effect the mind? I don't think so, but if it did it would be positive!

    The survey was cool :)

Source(s): Dancer for 10 years. I take ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, modern, and lyrical

I have been dancing since I was around 4 years old. I'm now 14 (:

    I love to dance (:

To me, dance is showing people the emotions of your soul. It is supernatural...your body tells a story, and this emotion is felt by others.

Dance brings out freedom and beauty in me.

I feel peaceful, calm and gentle.

I think dance can affect the mind because your mind is open, your body shows the emotion through the way you move.

    Definitely a positive way :)

    I like the survey :D

(: thanks, it really made me think!

I have been dancing since the age of 7 and I am now 13. So 6 years.

I love to dance! It is my life! I am at my dance studio everyday it is open and it is basically my home. When I'm not at my studio, I'm at home practicing my dance steps. I eat and do all my homework there..lolllll(:

    Dancing for me means:

expression of my personal feelings, letting out anger, showing your passion, dancing your heart out, competitions- hairspray, costumes, lip gloss(: doing what i Love. It's really funny because every time, I smell hairspray, I start thinking about competition and how exciting it is. Spring(competition season for me), is the best part of the WHOLE year. It's the moment i wait for to come for months.

Dancing brings out a whole new side of me! Every time my friends see one of my performances they are so surprised because I am not so outgoing at school. But when its time to hit the dance floor, smiles and struts pop out in me. It also brings out a passionate me because i am doing what I love

Yes, I get very excited and happy to learn each week before dance class and I always get happy whenever i dance my heart out.

I think dance definitely affect the mind in a positive way

I think this because music is an international motivator and when you dance to that music, a whole new mood can come out. When you dance to happy music, you an get pumped up, and slow music can make you passionate:)

    I love this survey! :)
