Honda Jazz 2002 SE injection; problem with accelerating?

55 chrctrs left; OK so at low revs she occasionally 'coughs' hard, as though the lean burn is making hard work of the throttle bodies settings. Only with say half throttle at ~2000 revs; if I Iet her rev out in gears on gentle throttle, no problem. 67000 miles, just serviced, new plugs, new filters. Is this a Jazz trait? I have to guess at very weak mid-throttle mixture or an ECU problem, any experienced thoughts out there? Thanks, of course

Update:

thanks chaps I was hoping for actual experience, I can read plugs at 50000 yards; have just changed them, (previous garage had obviously charged the previous lady owner for plugs but couldn't be *rsed to actually do the work - plugs were OE, incredible). I think I have an ECU versus lambda sond problem, it can wait for the next major service, meantime, I just rev out in the gears and not slog it.

I think the best way would be to take it to Honda dealer, it might only need adjustment or have an air leak but these modern engines you can't tinker with, not like he oldens.
