Would detangler work to keep drawings from smearing?

I have a pencil drawing that im giving to someone and i want to keep it from smearing but i dont have any hair spray but i have detangler and i wanna know if that will work instead on hair spray?

Also if i put detangler or even if i have to go but hair spray or the stuff thats made to keep it form smearing would it be ok if i laminated it? Or would it make it smear even though there was non smear stuff on it?

    no, that would be very very bad. BUY a fixative and read the directions. seriously, don't ruin your art.

    detangler is not a fixative, it is a type of oily film. It will ruin any artwork you use it on...

    If you can't do it right, don't do it...
