Amarillo has a population of about 200,000. The wind blows so strongly all the time that the trees grow bent over. The crime rate is 1 1/2 times that of the US average. The cost of living is lower than the US average. 86% of the residents attend church, with 48% going to the Baptist church. Although there is a downtown district, Hwy 40 that runs through town is lined with car dealerships, restaurants, motels, and a shopping mall. It's not the cleanest city in Texas.

Amarillo is a large, relatively speaking, city in the Panhandle, which is far North Texas.

It is hot in the summer, very cold in the winter, in that the only thing between Amarillo and the North Pole is a barbed wire fence.

The wind blows sand in the summer and sometimes the winter, but usually snow in the winter.

I am a native Texan and the Panhandle is not my favorite part of the state.

while i replaced into making use of via Amarillo, Texas, my motor vehicle replaced into hit and majorly broken with the help of a short, efficient hail typhoon. The clods of ice have been as great as golf balls. The typhoon regarded without warning on a customarily sunny day, dropped the hail, and left in simple terms as rapidly. Very unusual, i've got been advised. different than that, Amarillo, Texas looked like a sleepy city.
