Vista Windows Movie Maker wont import video?
When i try to import a video from my camera this pops up for all of the videos.
The file D:\DCIM\101CANON\MVI_1832.MOV cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
How do i fix this?
Thank you

windows movie maker does not support mov video format directly, so you have to change the file extension to wmv, avi, mpg as you need. Read the following tutorial and evaluate by yourself.

Windows movie maker works certain types of file video types, the video files coming from your storage device must not be that file type, however you can still load it on to your computer and use a free file converter online like Zamzar.com for instance to get the right file format you need.

HI, it's the video format issue. as I know, windows movie maker supports wmv or mpeg2 videos well, so you need to use a good software to convert mov videos to the wmv or mpeg2 videos for WMM. I am using RZ Video Converter which can convert any videos or audios between different formats with good quality, such as convert mov videos to the wmv or mpeg2 videos for WMM,etc. then you can import the converted wmv or mpeg2 videos into WMM, yahoo or google search and download RZ Video Converter, hope it can help you.
