PG era in WWE. Good or Bad?

Is it good for WWE. In my opinion, NO. Why? Easy. Have been a fan for over 30 years and have seen the birth of Hulkamania, Wrestlemania, Stone cold Steve Austin, Rock, Undertaker, Kane, HHH and various others who have all bled and been beaten up at some point in their careers. Watching this has not made me want to go out and whack someone over the head with a scaffold pole, Sledge hammer or steel chair. Nor did it make me want to run and hide behind the sofa. Why? because I was taught by my parents that what I saw on TV was not always real and that the wrestlers knew in advance what was going to happen to them. This meant that I could still enjoy watching Mick Foley vs undertaker in a steel cage and enjoy it rather than being scared or disgusted. My point is this. As parents it is up to us to decide what our kids watch and where they go. If wrestling is going to be violent then don't take them if you think it may affect them. I just want to know your views on this.

SHOULD PG STAY AS IT IS OR SHOULD WWE GO BACK TO THE ATTITUDE ERA?

Its not the PG's fault that the product is worse. And if WWE just got back to TV-14 and didnt do anything about the writing, bad booking and stupid characters, then the product would still be bad.

The PG thing got WWE more/better commercial deals and such, so in that way, its better for WWE. WWE doesn't need to change back to more sex, violence and curses. All they need to do, is focus on telling interesting stories, making you care about the wrestlers and putting on good matches.

I think it should stay PG, and focus on what ive said. Blood dont make a good product, even if it enhances it. Like the Bret Hart vs Stone Cold match at WM 13. Seeing Stone Cold with blood just pouring down and squirting made the moment so much more intense, but it wouldn't have been a bad match if he hadn't bleed.

I dont know if it answered your question, but that's my opinion on it.

I feel ya homie. I've been watching since 1988 and I've seen my share of its ups and downs. The pros & cons with the PG Era is that it makes for good viewing content for the kids nowadays because damn near every kid wants to imitate what they see and they wanna be like their favorite tv characters, but at the same time, those of us that were (still are) hooked on the Attitude Era and feel that it was the best era in pro wrestling look at the PG Era as being a downward spiral in the WWE. But if you think about it, when we were growing up, it was PG back then. Hogan was the ultimate face/superhero who barely ever got beat in a match, they barely had chair shots and you seldomly saw any blood, and when they showed it, it was blurred out on-screen. In addition, there was no cursing and no sexual content of any kind. So for those of us that were watching in the 80s, the PG Era symbolizes that WWE has come full circle, but for those that started watching in the Attitude Era and afterwards, the PG Era comes as a culture shock (so to speak). I let my kids watch WWE & TNA, but I make damn sure they don't imitate what they see. In my opinion, I'd like to see WWE return to the Attitude Era.

there's been 2 pg eras. The golden era and now. I think now is better cause it is present. Look who

we have on the freaking roster-

brian danielson-us champ, brian freaking danielson

Evan Bourne/Matt Sydal-one of the The most technically sound cruiserweights of the past 11 years.

    CM Punk-two words, invisible microphone.

Randy Orton-remember the kid who used to do dropsaults, crossbody blocks and leap frogs in ovw

and was bob orton's son? Look where he is now.

Edge-10 time world champion, i've only watched since 2002 so I saw him as that midcard guy

not tag team guy and i'm a big fan of him nowadays.

Its bad for sure. its not as exciting anymore, its predictable. Wrestling is NOT supposed to be for kids. thats why I started watching it in the first place. I used to feel like a man watching it now i feel like a 4 year old girl half the time. used to be when tv14 it was so unpredictable as to what may happen

I agree totally. Unfortunately, this is what America does. When they get an idea in their head, they follow through with it no matter how stupid. Wwe is a world wide broadcast yet America are the only ones who complained about the violence and blamed that for their kids killing each other. Its the parents who don't spend time with their kids and teach them right from wrong. But want to spend time in court fighting for stupid censorship

I'm on the fense, because I don't necessarily thing PG is the real problem

It's WWE's perception of what PG is, that's the problem

It's more G rated than PG if truth be told

the pg era could be good if they took aspects from the attitude era like to unpredictability and letting people get other and being themselves instead of other scripting the promos and matches. cos at the minute its to predictable and boring

that is 100% true. if parents don't want their kids watching it, then don't watch it! and kids these days should have a good dose of attitude! wrestling is meant to be violent! now its just a bunch of bloodless bull poop. BRING BACK THE ATTITUDE!

I hope it goes back to tv 14, but I don't think it will, so people just need to deal with it

GO BACK TO THE ATTITUDE ERA but call it the new ATTITUDE ERA.
