What kind of sewing projects can I make using canvas fabric?
I mean... Other than purses and such. I have a whole bunch and I don't know what to do with it.

Of course it depends on the size of your scraps, however there are many things to create with canvas:
1.If it is a light color (natural, white, etc) you could make:
Autograph items for High Schoolers, such as stuffed Autograph dog or other animal (Make a stuffed animal;attach pen with ribbon around neck;kids can get their buds to write stuff on it, autographs, etc) Same thing with book covers, backpacks, etc. Just attach a sharpie and you have a cool gift for the school age kid.
2.Do you have things that need a cover? Maybe a sewing machine cover; printer cover; things in your yard such as chairs, lawn mower, BBQ, again, depends on your yardage.
3. You could hand paint the canvas (2'x3'; 3'x5', etc) and make a floor cloth. A floor cloth is kind of like a rug. Basically, hand paint canvas with acrylics, then spray a clear coat of Urethane on top to seal. (make sure to use anti-slip under your rug) If you have small scraps, just sew them together and then paint. (You can Google "Floor Cloth" for directions)
4. Staple it to different size frames (thrift shops have cheap ones) and hand paint some wall art:)
5. With small scraps you could make place mats. Cut fabric to placemat size. Serge or hem around edges. Use as is or hand paint or sew ribbon, trims, etc to mat.
6.Really small scraps... Pot holders? Line with wool fleece/felt to reduce heat transfer.
The cool thing about canvas is the ability to paint on it, which opens up many more craft ideas.
Anyway, hope that helps get your creative juices flowing. Have fun!

You can use it for a shoe organizer, or any kind of organizer, for one thing. I would think an organizer that went over a chair arm and held all the remotes together would be great. You can use it to make a portfolio that folds up to make it manageable to keep your current projects together. Obviously, that would require pockets on the inside which you could make with a see through plastic, or just use the canvas for the pockets. I hope this helps.
