will covering my floor air vent with a piece of furniture hurt anything?

I dont care about air circulation... I gotta good fan for the summer and i got blankets for winter.. haha.

. PLEASE ANSWER.. i also closed the air vent but its kinda loose..

    it was put there for a reason so think on before blocking it off.

    What kind of air vent? One that produces heat or one that pulls cold air back to the furnace, otherwise known as a cold air return?. If it's one heat vent out of many, close it off no problem, But if it's your cold air return, the furnace needs that air coming in to function properly. You do too care about circulation. It's what helps heat your home properly.
