What is the most anyone has paid H & R Block to do their taxes?

The CPA that has done my taxes since 1979 is no longer doing them. I do have rental property so I can't use the short form.

According to their annual report for 2010, last year H&R Blocks' average customer paid $206 for their federal and state income tax preparation. I have seen some folks pay as much as $500 if they have extra schedules and diverse forms of income as I believe the software the firm uses calculates the fee based on the number of keystrokes, number of forms, and amount of time used in the process.

Do some shopping around and find someone with a good reputation who charges a reasonable fee for the service. The BBB is a good starting point.

    Good luck.
