    Explanation for [1]

    x = (1/2)(90-x)

    x = 45-(1/2)x

    x + (1/2)x = 45

    (3/2)x = 45

    x = 45 / (3/2)

    x = 30

    Explanation for [2]

    Let "x" be the angle, so its supplement is "180-x"

    180 - x = 12 + 2x

    180 - 12 = 2x + x

    168 = 3x

    x = 56

    Thus, the angle equals 56 degrees and so its supplement equals 124 degrees

    Explanation for [3]

    Let "x" be the angle. So, its complement is "90 - x" and its supplement is "180 - x".

    180 - x = 6(90 - x)

    180 - x = 540 - 6x

    -x + 6x = 540 - 180

    5x = 360

    x = 72

    The angle measures 72 degrees. Therefore, the complement is 18 degrees and the supplement is 108 degrees.
