What book did I read?

About 4 years ago I read a book in my school's library which was about a young asian girl living with her two parents and older sister. They worked really hard and didn't really have a whole lot of money, and though it wasn't the sole topic of the book, the girl's older sister had sickle-cell anemia and ended up dying from it. I remember bits and pieces, that the mother worked in a chicken factory and always smelled bad. There may or may not have been a brother as well. It was such a good book and I want to remember the name so I can reread it.
