why don't people realize that black people have contributed a lot to this world?

Bottom line it is our responsibility to know our story and the truth for ourselves. We can't help if some people are in denial. It would be great to be respected in the same way we respect others. However if one can't be respected than it better to be revered than scoffed at..

Excuse me but people do if they didnt the President Of The United States wouldnt be a black man I think people for along time see and realize African Americans do contribute if they didnt America could not stand firm .

What is sad to say is that African American are a billion dollar industry .There poverty and incarceration rate literally fills the pockets of many people with a living wage the same goes for my latino people .I have studied quite a bit about my latin roots and even some of my african ancestory which I do have .

And I can say this that we have not accomplished much but can accomplish much much more .I have thrown away over 134 different ideas I have had things that could of bettered the world that came to my mind like a fart out of no where .But due to patent laws and my ability to know I will be rewarded for any of my efforts I have dumped them.

I have come to the conclusion that if what I had discovered was of any use to man kind then I would be able to share it with others and also profit of it so I can do what I want with my life .But as time passes I have realized people do not care about no one except themselves so if half the world dead why would I care thats our mentality in America and in the world to profit of another or use another human being .

I have seen and meet many fine black men and women with dreams goals and abilites ,but our contributions to science are slim and our ability to create advancement in technology can only happen when people stop closing doors to black men due to records and open them .

Music an sports are nice things but blacks should be allowed to do better adn they can and I hope I have pissed of some people I mean to because people need to ensure that there own sons and daughters can create things if this does not happen blacks will continut to have little businesses in the neighborhoods and they will continue to leave there kids nothing but pills of debt behind.

This is a forum that you cannot take seriously. Blacks have contributed a lot of building this society a matter of fact it was built mostly on Africans backs. The people who do not know there history and is blinded by ignorance or hatred will tell you different. The inventions that "whites have made" remember it was illegal for us at one time to read and if we had any ideas that were worth something, it was stolen. Public schools won't teach this.

Where is our WHITE history month?

And I highly doubt that anyone born after 1970, has had to "deal" with anything you are referring to, such as slavery. They have had all the opportunities as everyone else. They choose to live the lives they lead and nobody feels sorry for them.

I will NOT be celebrating Black history month, because it is discriminatory to have a separate month set aside to "honor" one race, without allowing another month to honor another race. It's racist.
