I'd try looking into the 2ZZ-GE motor from the Celica GTS, small and compact like your current motor. Also with your xB weighing around 2400-2500lbs, and 180hp @ 7800rpms, you'll be moving quick, and for sure be able to beat a tC. With a swap though your looking at possible suspension replacement up front, rearranging fluids and what not. Then there may be a chance that you'll have to cut away at some areas for fitment. You can probably search for service mass and size and compare that to your current engines service mass and size and if they are close probably not worry to much about suspension. May be cheaper to turbo your xB. There are a few turbo kits available for it, and can boost power to 200hp, with some engine mods as well, and will make it just as fast. Up to you though good luck.

Don't even think about it. For what it'll cost you'd be better off selling your automatic and buying an xB (new or used) that has a manual transmission. If you absolutely must do this, wait until your warranty expires.

check scion forums and see what others have done but always check your local shops
