How do I get rid of BING, a search engine that installed itself on my computer,?

overlaying my home page I had previously, which was Google Chrome. I resent the intrusion. Can BING be removed? I've tried getting rid of it to no avail.

Click START, PROGRAMS, CONTROL PANEL, search for SHIELD SOFT, the new Microsoft "protection" that has imbedded itself on your computer drive, go to UNINSTALL PROGRAMS, select SHIELD SOFT, and double click Uninstall. No need to even reboot, it's gone. It also appears in the lower right-hand corner with a Microsoft symbol.

Go to=start, control panel, programs software, find BING tool bar, highlight and click uninstall at the top of the applet.
