Emancipated at 16, legally?
Okay. My girlfriend is 16. We want to get married before May this year. I will graduate this year in may. We currently live in texas and she cannot be with her mom no longer. Right now her and I live together and have been for the Past two months: her mom claims that she will not be married to me without concent how does this all work? We wan to move to Colorado for school I wil be attending college and she will finish her last year of school there. Someone please how can we leave legally? Please no remarks about how young we are I don't need it. I just want us happy in Colorado but someone please answer......how?

She would have to get permission from both of her parents in order to get married. She can't be emancipated and then get married. She would still need her parents' permission until she is 18.

Jeez I hope this is a joke because otherwise it is a tragedy in the making. Two more people consigning themselves and their kids to a life of poverty.
