Ally is just another creature type. So "Elf Warrior Ally" and an Elf, a Warrior, and an Ally.

The basic idea of the Ally creature type was to have a type that is commonly shared across all 5 colors, and that each ally has some effect that is dependant on either Allies entering the battlefield or the number of Allies you control (sometimes both).

Just as long as ally is in the type the abilities will activate for other allies regardless of there other creature type do you can have both of those in the same deck and have both of there abilities activate.

Ally is not a creature name, it is a creature type. You cannot play Extirpate and name Ally for instance. You can however use Living Death with Allies for very interesting combos.
