What is the best station wagon ever built?
I am wondering what is the best station wagon ever built? This is more of an opinion question than a statistics one. And by station wagon I am talking about the woodgrain ferry boat your grandmother used to drive your mom to school, not those little plastic ones with a 1.9L 4 cylinder engine duct taped and paper clipped to the engine bay. If you wish you could also include a top 5 or top 10 list as well. Thank you for your time.

1988 Subaru GL-10 1.8L Turbo SOHC
This was a special Canada only model. Not only did it have 4X4 on demand, and a turbo, it came with pneumatic suspension with selectable height! My favorite part was that the speedometer was a HUD!! Very space age for '88. It was also a tank that survived many a beating on Canadian logging roads. I drove it until, after 344,000 miles, it blew a head gasket trying to climb Cascades...
Damn I miss that Super-Wagon!

I had a 63 buick Lesabre station wagon it was the same size of the new suburbans now, it had power windows, power seat, cruise control, tilt steering, power door locks, it cruised all day at 80mph and hummed right along like the big heavy tank that it was. wish I would have kept that old thing, that was one nice car.

All wagons are best wagons!
But honestly, my favorite (big) wagon? 94-96 Caprice with the LT1. Paint it black, get some Impala SS wheels and you've got yourself a (more) modern B-Body.

Chrysler built some in the 60's and70's that were Amazing. I don't mean Dodge or Plymouth. Luxury, style and power.

Buick Roadmaster with the LT1 (I think). Im 20 but if I could find one in really good shape I'd but it in a heartbeat.
