Will a transmission from a 2000 model Chevy Blazer fit into a 1999 Chevy Blazer?
I recently purchased a 99 Chevy blazer that needs the transmission replaced and so far I have only been able to find a transmission out of a 2000 model. I want to know if it will fit with no problems before I waste money on it. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
I am buying it used. But not from a junk yard. The guy selling it said he's parting his chevy out because the fuel pump went out and some other minor things and he's just hoping to make some money off of it. The transmission currently in it still works, the reverse is just out. But I figured I should go ahead and replace it, because it's only a matter of time before I have to anyway. Might as well do it while I have the money.

If the Transmission and Engine setup are the same, then it should go in without a problem.

who's doing the work? any mechanic worth anything will know. where this tranny coming from? junk yard?? you do know what you get in a junkyard?? JUNK
because 1/3 of the cost is labor its a shame to put in a tranny that is as bad as the one you took out,,,OK lets assume tranny is good,,make sure you have a rebuilt torque converter put in,,that's usually the first part to go.and yes..it fits [i have a 99 shop manual ,] final authority you friendly chevy dealer parts dept,,[not service dept] although any auto parts store can verify it

I believe both the '99 and '00 are the same transmission, I know they both have the same issues

that just depends on the engine. if both have the same size engine then it should drop right in with no problem.
