What happened America?

Billions of corporate money is dumped into elections. Follow the money. What does the investments get? Mainly appointed positions, write legislation, make policy, give their corporation an unfair advantage over the competition, collect government funds by contracts and new branches of government. Not progressive but a return of investments.

I think it's called change. Being in my 50's I grew up believing things will always be as they were when I was growing up, but I was so very wrong. Now that I see what is happening around the U.S. I can only be angry with myself, because I did not see what was going on around in my own community,city and state. How naive and sad it was when I finally woke up from my sheltered unrealistic world( kinda like the Clevers) did.To think that for everyone living the America dream as I once did and always be safe in my home. Now that I know better I am taking steps to conform into what the New America has molded me into. It's not a matter of left or right. It's a matter of doing what is best for you and yours. Stop blaming others for your inability to accept change because rather you like it or not its going to continue to change until you die.

Well, if you think of the left as West. Many people had to move west because Godzilla was attacking the East coast. However, if you think of left as liberal you would have to look at the formation of political parties throughout poltical movements. Mainly, look at the names each political group took during election years. Also, if you look at what political movements were taking course in each election - influenced each party. Race, woman's movements, religious...etc. I don't have a specific answer it's just a generalized position on how politics have worked and twisted political ideologies to win over the middle class (mid-spectrum). I wouldn't go so far as to say we have moved left over the years, as both parties seem to be fusing at the middle of the spectrum where its hard to tell the two apart, but I would say how we define each party has changed largely because of what I mentioned previously.

So they do things INCREMENTALLY - so... like the minute hand moving, on a dial clock, you don't realize they're moving.

OVER THE YEARS... the minute hand has "gone around" 3 times and the HOUR HAND, has moved a full 1/4 of a clock face.

Now when we reflect... we can see how far they've advanced their agenda.

We have accepted "tolerance" and the left kept lurching left while no one thought it was necessary to fight back.

Some say it went right... however I see the United States collapsing soon so it does not matter.

It's called "Progress", and it's usually what happens as a country becomes more civilized and learns from their mistakes.
