Using Corn sugar in baking?

A friend from Canada gave me some corn sugar. Looks somewhere between regular cane sugar and powdered sugar. I just tried to make brownies with it and they came out horrible. Can someone please tell me how or if you can bake with it. What is the conversion? Thanks

Here's a site with recipes using it you can browse through and maybe see what the average is. I have no personal experience with it, and couldn't find a standard conversion anywhere online. Is there another name it goes by, or a brand name you can try the official site for recipe?
